A Mother Blessing Ceremony (traditionally known as a Blessingway by the Navajo people of Native America) is all about nurturing the mother-to-be and celebrating her journey into motherhood. We use the name mother blessing so we do not disrespect the native cultural traditions.
Mother Blessings aim to honor and respect a woman through her maiden to mother rite of passage (or mother of one to two and so on).
We gather in circle, with a group of people important, loved, and loving of the mother to be, to partake in a series of rituals that show everyone's love and support and lend strength to the mother.
Different to a traditional baby shower, this ceremony is focused on the mother and helping to set her up for an empowered pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Mother Blessings are tailored to suit each mother. If this sounds like something you would like to celebrate yourself and your baby, then please feel free to contact me so we can begin to create your special day.
